The Owner Of Goettl Air Conditioning Rewards College Student And Veteran


Nick Hughes left the Navy in 2013. It was difficult for him to adjust to life as a civilian because he had no idea what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He recently graduated from an air conditioning technology program at College Of Southern Nevada. He also received the Post 9/11 Veteran Tools award, which was given by Ken Goodrich. Ken is the owner of Goettl Air Conditioning.
The Post 9/11 Veteran Tools award allowed Nick to select $1,000 worth of tools that can be used to take his career to the next level. Ken stated that he felt compelled to support veterans. He also stated that he knows veterans make great employees. Additionally, he stated that handing out scholarships helps put strong people in the HVAC industry.

Dennis Soukup is the applied science department chair at College of Southern Nevada. He has also spent time in the military. He knows firsthand what it is like to not have any money to purchase the tools that one needs for a job. Dennis stated that in the past, employers would take the money needed for tools out of one’s paycheck.

Nick worked for seven years as a cook in the Navy. He did well in the air conditioning technology program and now works for a HVAC contracting firm. Nick is thrilled to have the support of his community.

Goettl Air Conditioning is a company that has been around since 1939. It was created by Adam and Gust Goettl.
