Norwegian Air Announces New Flights From West Coast To Europe

Executives at Norwegian Air are hoping to drum up business on America’s West Coast. To achieve this lofty goal, the company just announced new flights from some of the West Coast’s top airports to major European cities.

One West Coast city that’s getting a discounted non-stop European flight from Norwegian Air is Seattle, Washington. This flight from Seattle – Tacoma International Airport to the Gatwick Airport in London will start operations on September 17th of this year. Norwegian Air employees told reporters these London flights will be offered four times a week.

The truly amazing thing about Norwegian Air’s Seattle to London flight is the price. People can book one-way economy tickets for only $199. People interested in purchasing a one-way premium ticket, however, will have to pay $839.

As of today, Norwegian Air’s price for a non-stop flight to London is the cheapest in the USA. In addition to offering this amazing deal from Seattle, Norwegian Air also plans to make this same flight available from Denver, Colorado.

Believe it or not, Norwegian Air already flies to 48 European cities from 13 American cities. All of these non-stop flights are offered either year-round or on a seasonal basis.

Norwegian Air also officially opened a direct flight from Oakland, California, to Copenhagen, Denmark. This flight will take place on a Boeing 797 Dreamliner. Another West Coast city that offers Norwegian Air flights to the Danish capital is Los Angeles.

Thomas Ramdahl, the chief commercial officer at Norwegian Air, told reporters that expanding the company’s flight options on the West Coast has “always been a part of Norwegian’s growth plan.” He also said that if the company noticed success with these new Copenhagen flights, they would try to offer even more services all around the Bay Area.

Although the flight price for Seattle to London is extremely cheap, it isn’t the best deal offered by Norwegian Air in recent years. Norwegian Air has been promising $69 direct flights from major U.S. cities to Europe. The only confirmed route offering this astonishing deal is between New York’s Stewart Airport and Edinburgh, Scotland.

As for what’s coming next in Norwegian Air’s transatlantic strategy, there are rumors that a non-stop flight to Paris from the USA could soon appear on its roster. Norwegian Air will most likely launch this Paris flight from Seattle and Denver before the end of the year.
