Michel Terpins is Currently the Leading T1 Prototype Category Driver in Brazil

Despite being one of the highest rated rally drivers in Brazil today, Michel Terpins’s first professional race was as a motorcycle rider. Unlike many before him, he, however, made a successful shift from motorcycles to cars. He has particularly gone on to specialize in the T1 prototype category of the rally cars. Today he races in a powerful T-Rex developed and maintained by MEM Motorsport.

Fortunately for Michel Terpins, his elder brother, Rodrigo is also a rally driver. Consequently, over the years he has always had someone to share his passion with, watch and learn from. Rodrigo has himself taken part in many editions of the Sertoes rally, albeit not as many as Michel. Together with their co-drivers, the two make up the Bull Sertoes Rally Team. The continued support of the team is facilitated by sponsorship from organizations such as Bull Sertoes, Motul, 100% events, Ohlins and the already highlighted MEM Motorsport.

Michel Terpins’s greatest rallying achievement came in the recently concluded Sertoes Rally. In his tenth time taking part in the seven-section rally, he emerged first in the highly competitive T1 category. The win was a dominant one for Terpins as he was able to create and expand a lead throughout the last four sections of the rally. In addition to his exceptional driving skills and unwavering navigation from his co-driver, Maykel Justo, the win can be attributed to the high performance of the T-Rex. By winning the Sertoes rally, Terpins and Justo have inched a lot closer to becoming the overall winners of the National Cross Country Championship.

The 2017 edition of the Sertoes rally marked only the second year that Michel Terpins has been working with Maykel Justo. Justo is, in fact, more experienced in the rally than Terpins, having taken part in one more event. Over the course of his extensive motorsport career, Justo has navigated for both rally cars and trucks and was part of the winning team during the 2014 Pro Brazil category. As the two continue to improve their driver-navigator relationship, considerably more success is expected to come along the pair’s way.
