Michael Burwell: Financing Success At Willis Towers Watson

Michael Burwell is the successful Chief Financial Officer of Willis Towers Watson. With enough dedication and expertise, he has risen to this position following years of experience from other companies.

 

Michael Burwell is a certified public accountant and was able to receive his degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University.

 

Before being part of the Willis Towers Watson team, Michael Burwell worked for three decades at the Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP. This was where he learned enough expertise as he served for 11 years at the assurance expertise of the auditing department. During 1997, he was also included in the partnership between Pricewaterhouse and Detroit transactions.

 

Burwell’s successful work ethics has led him to become the US Transaction Services Leader for the company. After 10 years, he was eventually appointed as Chief Financial Officer and became the Chief Operating Officer in Pricewaterhouse US Business chain. He became appointed in 2012 as the Vice Chairman Global and US Transformation.

 

One of Mike Burwell’s roles to implement change to improve the effectiveness of their organizational practices. He saw the potential of diversifying the internal structures that Pricewaterhouse has, as also focused on improvements in different company sectors such as Finance, Human Capital, Strategic Operations, and Global Sourcing. During this time, he also worked to maintain relationships with clients as a senior relationship partner for the firm.

 

Michael Burwell’s current position as a Chief Financial Officer gave him the privilege to serve Willis Towers Watson at a more influential level. Last August 31, 2017, Willis Towers Watson announced in a conference in Arlington, Va. that Michael Burwell will be replacing former Roger Millay as the new CFO.
