Lawrence Bender is an incredibly well-known film producer. While he grew up in Brooklyn, New York, Bender would go to attend school at the University of Maine. It was at this university where Bender would obtain a degree in Civil Engineering. Fortunately, many film fans are happy that he decided to pursue his passion for producing movies. Considering that, my favorite movie produced by Lawrence Bender is Jackie Brown.
This film was released in 1997 and features Pam Grier as the main star. That being said, there are plenty of other major cast members in this film including Samuel L. Jackson, Bridget Fonda, Robert De Niro, and Michael Keaton. This is the only film that notable friend of Lawrence Bender, Quentin Tarantino, has ever adapted from a previous work which was a novel titled Rum Punch.
The title character of this films works as a flight attendant. However, Jackie Brown finds herself earning additional income by sneaking drugs around the world while working for a dangerous drug dealer. Eventually, Jackie Brown must find herself dealing with pressure from both law enforcement and her boss wanting her to complete more smuggling work. What follows are plenty of plot twists that only Tarantino and Bender could work together to deliver.
Jackie Brown is a movie that combines multiple genres well, taking elements from action, crime, thriller, and comedic films. However, many people offer praise for the amazing acting that went into this film. It’s worth noting that each actor and actress in this film all deliver amazingly realistic performances. In turn, this helps the viewer to fully immerse themselves in the story. It was said that the casting process for this film reportedly took a very long time to complete.
In conclusion, my favorite Lawrence Bender film is Jackie Brown. This movie helped to reignite the career of legendary actress Pam Grier and actor Robert Forster. This film features Grier as the title character, a flight attendant who is finding herself on both sides of the law. Jackie Brown is a wild ride that will leave viewers intrigued and thoroughly entertained.
Gene Wilder is probably best known for his role as Willy Wonka in the movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” On August 29,2016, Gene Wilder passed away. He was a man known for making people laugh. He has starred in several comedies and dramatic movies, such as “Young Frankenstein” and “Stir Crazy.” Wilder always seemed to bring a smile to those around him. He never tried to be funny. It was just his personality as he wanted those around him to live life to its fullest.
Wilder’s nephew made a statement about the cause of death, stating that Wilder passed away from complications associated with Alzheimer’s. The man was more than just an actor on the big screen. He performed on several stages across the country, and he also wrote a few screenplays. The first movie that Wilder was in was “Bonnie & Clyde.” It was released in 1967. The movie was about the famous couple who robbed banks. Wilder’s second film, “The Producers,” was one that showcased just how funny Wilder could be on the big screen.
Gene Wilder is remembered for his enticing blue eyes and his out of control hair. He was an anxious person who always seemed to want to be active. His role as Willy Wonka earned him a nomination for a Golden Globe in 1971. Even though the movie wasn’t as big of a success as some would have hoped, it’s the role of Willy Wonka that Wilder is often known for being involved with. He has been in movies where he is a quiet Waco Kid as well as movies where he is a mad scientist.
Wilder’s acting career tapered off, and he seemed to become more of a quiet person who had things on his mind that bothered him. He would call out to God at random moments, and he would walk up to people just to give them a hug. Wilder has left many quotes for his fans to read and follow, but he mostly wanted others to know that it’s alright to smile and use the imagination.
Buzzfeed.com is reporting that actress Amber Heard is filing for divorce from her husband iconic actor Johnny Depp. The paperwork was filed last Monday, stating the reason for the divorce is due to irreconcilable differences and that the couple has been separated since May 22nd. The filing is coming just three days after Depp’s beloved mother Betty Sue Palmer passed away at 81-years-old.
Depp’s representative, Robin Baum, said that the actor will not be responding to any “salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life” given how he just lost his mother and how short his marriage to Heard was. In his statement he went on to say that, “hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
Depp, who is 52-years-old, married the 30-year-old actress in a private ceremony in February of 2015 on his island in the Bahamas. The two met while they were filming the 2011 movie “The Rum Diaries”. There are rumors circulating that there was tension between Heard and Depp’s late mother and teenage children.
It seems as well that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement in place when they got married. Heard has filed for spousal support as well. Depp has filed the paperwork asking the court to deny her claim. Depp is reportedly worth more than $400 million and was recently paid $61 million for his role in “Alice Through the Looking Glass”.
